Two items worth your attention this week: Krikzz has restocked the EverDrive GBA Pro after an extended dry spell, and indie developer Ice.Cold.Blood just released a public demo of Bat-Son’s Nightmare — a handcrafted Game Boy dungeon crawler you can run on real hardware or your Analogue Pocket today.

EverDrive GBA Pro Back in Stock — Don’t Sleep on This

If you’ve been eyeing the EverDrive GBA Pro and gave up because it kept showing “Out of Stock” on the Krikzz storefront, today’s your day. Krikzz quietly restocked the cart, and word spread quickly on r/everdrive this morning, with multiple users confirming successful direct orders.
This matters because the EverDrive GBA Pro has been so backordered that scalpers have been flipping units on eBay at roughly double retail price — sometimes north of $200–$250 USD for a cart that Krikzz sells for $129. Every time stock has appeared, it’s sold through fast.
Why the GBA Pro Over the Older X5 Mini?
The EverDrive GBA Pro is Krikzz’s current flagship GBA flash cart, and it improves on the older EverDrive GBA X5 Mini in a few meaningful ways:
- microSD up to 2TB supported — overkill for GBA ROMs but useful if you’re also running GBC and GB games
- RTC (real-time clock) — required for time-sensitive games like Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire and the classic Harvest Moon GBA titles
- Save states — soft-patch save states for games that don’t natively support them
- IPS patch support — fan translation and improvement patches load cleanly without pre-patching ROMs manually
- Cheats via cheat database — GameShark and Code Breaker codes via built-in database support
The GBA Pro also works in original GBA, GBA SP, Game Boy Micro, NDS, and NDS Lite hardware. It does not run on original DMG or GBC — for that you’d want the EverDrive GB X7 or EverDrive GB X5. The GBA Pro is strictly GBA-family and DS slots.
Does It Work on Analogue Pocket?
Yes, with the GBA cartridge adapter for Analogue Pocket (sold separately by Analogue). The EverDrive GBA Pro functions correctly on Pocket running the official firmware — you get the full menu, save states, and all features. If you’re a Pocket owner who also has a stock GBA or SP, the Pro is one of the most versatile investments you can make for your collection.
Grab It Before It Sells Out Again
Based on past restock patterns, these units move within days. Order directly from Krikzz to avoid the eBay scalper tax. Stone Age Gamer is also an authorized US reseller if you prefer domestic shipping.
Direct from the manufacturer. No affiliate relationship — we just think this is the right place to buy it.
Bat-Son’s Nightmare: A New GB Studio Dungeon Crawler Just Dropped

On a different note — if you’re into Game Boy homebrew, developer Ice.Cold.Blood just released a public demo of Bat-Son’s Nightmare, a dungeon crawler built in GB Studio and currently available on itch.io.
The game puts you in control of Bat-Son navigating a trap-filled dungeon. The pitch is deliberately grim: “danger isn’t just a probability — it’s a guarantee.” You’re exploring, avoiding hazards, and trying to unlock a final gate. It plays like a classic Game Boy puzzle-platformer with the visual aesthetic you’d expect from a GBS-built title.
What Makes It Worth Checking Out
- Free demo, no cart required — playable directly in the itch.io browser on desktop or mobile, no emulator setup needed
- Real hardware compatible — download the ROM and flash it to a cart or run it in any decent emulator
- Analogue Pocket compatible — confirmed to work via the official itch page
- GB Studio pedigree — built on GB Studio, the accessible Game Boy development tool that’s been responsible for a wave of quality community releases in recent years
Controls follow the standard GB Studio convention: arrow keys to move, Z to jump, X to interact, Enter/Select for menus. If you’ve played any GB Studio game before, it’ll feel immediately familiar.
Runs in your browser — no download or emulator needed. Also available as a ROM for real hardware.
Quick Housekeeping: GBA Flash Cart Landscape in March 2026
With the EverDrive GBA Pro restocking, it’s worth noting where things stand for anyone new to GBA flash carts:
- EverDrive GBA Pro — Best overall, now back in stock at Krikzz ($129). RTC, save states, IPS patches.
- EverDrive GBA X5 Mini — Older flagship, still a solid choice if you find it discounted. No save states, but rock-solid compatibility.
- EZ-Flash Omega Definitive Edition — Strong Krikzz competitor with its own fan base. Available on AliExpress and sometimes Amazon. Good budget pick if the ED is out of stock.
- EZ-Flash Junior — GB/GBC-only cart for original hardware. Cheaper than an EverDrive GB, very popular for GBC play.
If you already have a GBC setup and are looking at GB/GBC flash carts specifically, the EverDrive GB X7 remains the premium option. But for GBA-family play, the Pro is the current gold standard when it’s available — and right now, it is.
